Reputation does not transfer, proof does

No market imports another market ratings, and any that claimed to would be lying. What does travel is a key you can sign with and a history somebody can check, which is enough to shorten the cold start.

Why nothing transfers

Ratings are entries in one market database and mean nothing in another. No market can verify what another one recorded, and any market advertising imported reputation is either guessing or lying. So a move always starts from zero on the number, and the work is in shortening how long zero lasts.

What does travel

A key travels. If you have signed announcements or listings with the same PGP key over time, that key is a thread running through your history, and anyone can check that the person posting now controls the same key as the person who built the record. That is proof rather than a claim, and it is the strongest thing a moving vendor brings.

A public trail travels too. Where your old profile is still visible, point at it and sign the pointer. Buyers who care will check, and those are the buyers who place larger orders later.

Shortening the cold start

Price competitively on small orders early, cap sizes so a bad run cannot sink you, and treat every early dispute as a case you must win on evidence. Ten flawless small orders create a profile a buyer will trust with a large one. Two sloppy ones create a profile you will want to abandon, and abandoning it means starting the whole cycle again.

Why standing here is durable
